“Composition
The active substances of the drug are: 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol.
One hard lozenge contains 1.2 mg of 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and 0.6 mg of amylmetacresol.
The other ingredients are: honey, peppermint oil, lemon oil, tartaric acid, quinoline yellow (E104), glucose syrup, sucrose syrup.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
The drug is intended for use on the oral mucosa.
Adults and children under 6 years of age: suck one lozenge slowly every 2-3 hours.
Do not use more than 8 lozenges a day.
Action
The active substances contained in the drug have antiviral and antibacterial properties.
Indications
Strepsils with honey and lemon is intended for the symptomatic treatment of inflammation of the mouth and throat.
Contraindications
Strepsils with honey and lemon contains quinoline yellow (E104), which may cause an allergic reaction.
If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Frequency unknown: hypersensitivity reactions [may manifest as rash, angioedema (swelling of the skin and mucous membrane), urticaria, bronchospasm and hypotension with fainting], abdominal pain, nausea, oral discomfort [may manifest as throat irritation, paresthesia in the mouth mouth (unusual sensations in the mouth such as warmth, burning, tingling, numbness, etc.), swelling of the mouth and glossodynia (burning sensation in the mouth)], sore tongue, rash.
