Areas of Application
Voltaren® Pain Relief Gel is used externally to relieve pain and reduce inflammation and swelling in the following cases:
Soft tissue trauma: trauma to tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints (e.g. due to sprains, strains, bruises, back pain, sports injuries)
Localized forms of soft tissue rheumatism: tendonitis (e.g. tennis elbow), bursitis, shoulder-hand syndrome, frozen shoulder.
In addition, Voltaren® Pain gel effectively relieves pain in the knees or fingers in moderate osteoarthritis.
Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the gel should be used 3-4 times a day.
Depending on the size To treat the painful area, an amount from a cherry to a walnut is required, corresponding to 1-4 g of gel (11.6-46.4 mg diclofenac, diethylamine salt).
The maximum daily dose is 16 g gel (equivalent to 185.6 mg diclofenac, diethylamine salt).
Elderly patients
No special dose adjustment is required. However, elderly people should pay special attention to side effects when using it and, if necessary, consult their doctor or pharmacist.
Impaired kidney or liver function
No dose reduction is required.
Children and adolescents (under 14 years)
For adolescents aged 14 years and over, the patient/parents are advised to consult a doctor if the medicine is needed to relieve pain for more than 7 days or if symptoms worsen.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
Contraindications
Do not use:
if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient diclofenac, any of the other ingredients or other medicines used to treat pain, fever or inflammation, such as ibuprofen or acetylsalicylic acid (an active ingredient that, among other things, helps suppress blood pressure) clotting). Symptoms of an allergic reaction to these medicines may include: wheezing or shortness of breath (asthma), blisters and hives, swelling of the face or tongue, runny nose.

in the last trimester of pregnancy;
