“Xados 20 mg tablets contain the active ingredient bilastine, which is an antihistamine.
Xados 20 mg tablets are used to relieve symptoms of hay fever (sneezing, itchy nose, runny nose, congestion, redness or watery eyes) and other forms of allergic rhinitis.
It can also be used to treat itchy skin rashes (hives).
Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years of age.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage. If symptoms persist, contact your doctor.
Xados 20 mg tablets with food, drinks and alcohol.
These tablets should not be taken with food, grapefruit juice or other fruit juices as this will reduce the effect of bilastine. To avoid this effect, you can:
take the tablet and wait one hour before lying down or drinking fruit juice;
Wait two hours before taking the tablet if you have eaten or drunk fruit juice.
Bilastine at the recommended dose (20 mg) does not increase alcohol-induced drowsiness.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
There is limited or no data on the use of bilastine in pregnant and lactating women and its effect on fertility.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, consult your doctor before taking this medication. Before taking any medications, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Directions for use and dosage:
The recommended dose of the drug for adults, including the elderly, and adolescents aged 12 years and older is 1 tablet (20 mg) per day:
Take the tablet orally.
The tablet must be taken one hour before or two hours after eating or drinking fruit juice.
Swallow the tablet and drink it with a glass of water.
The decorative groove is only intended to make the tablet easier to split if you have difficulty swallowing it whole. The tablets are not intended to halve the dosage.
Duration of treatment:
The duration of treatment depends on the type, course and duration of symptoms.
Do not take Xados 20 mg tablets for more than 10 days without consulting a doctor.
If you do not feel better within 3 days or if your symptoms worsen, you should contact your doctor.”
