“The medicine is intended for short-term relief of symptoms of throat inflammation in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Composition
The active substance is flurbiprofen.
One hard lozenge contains 8.75 mg of flurbiprofen.
The other ingredients are: isomalt (E 953), maltitol (E 965), cochineal red (E 124), sunset yellow (E 110), acesulfame potassium (E 950), macrogol 300 (E 1521), orange flavor (limonene (50). .0%-100%), decanal (0.0%-10%), citral, citronellol (0.1%-1.0%)), levomenthol.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 hard lozenge every 3 to 6 hours, as needed. nDo not take more than 5 lozenges in 24 hours.
The lozenge should be dissolved slowly in the mouth, do not swallow or chew the lozenge.
Action
The medicinal product Polopiryna Gardło belongs to a group of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which have analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties in the treatment of sore throat. These drugs work by changing the body’s response to pain, swelling and high temperature.
Indications
The indication for use of the drug is short-term relief of symptoms of throat inflammation, such as irritation, pain and swelling of the throat and difficulty swallowing in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Contraindications
When not to use:
If you are allergic to flurbiprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you have ever had asthma, unusual breathing sounds or difficulty breathing, runny nose, facial swelling or itchy skin rash (hives) after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs,
If you have or have had an ulcer in your stomach or intestines (two or more episodes of stomach or duodenal ulcer),
If you have had bleeding or perforation of the gastrointestinal tract, severe colitis or blood disorders related to previous treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
If the patient is in the last three months of pregnancy (third trimester),
If you have or have had severe heart, liver or kidney failure.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Stop using this medicine and call your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms:
Symptoms of allergic reactions such as asthma, unexplained wheezing or shortness of breath, itching, rhinitis, skin rashes, etc.
Swelling of the face, tongue or throat causing difficulty in breathing, rapid heartbeat and drop in blood pressure leading to shock (may occur even the first time you use the medicine).
Serious skin reactions such as peeling, blistering or peeling of the skin.
If you notice any of the following symptoms or symptoms not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): dizziness, headache, throat irritation, mouth sores or pain in the mouth, sore throat, discomfort or unusual sensations in the mouth (warmth, burning, tingling, stinging) etc.), nausea and diarrhea, tingling and itching of the skin.
Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people): drowsiness or difficulty sleeping, worsening of asthma, wheezing, difficulty breathing, blistering in the mouth and throat, numbness of the throat, dry mouth, burning sensation in the mouth , taste disturbances, flatulence, abdominal pain, wind, constipation, indigestion, vomiting, decreased sensation in the throat, fever, pain, skin rashes, itching.
Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people): anaphylactic reaction.
Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): anemia, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count which may cause bruising and bleeding), swelling, high blood pressure, heart failure or heart attack, severe forms of skin reactions such as bullous lesions including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell’s syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, hepatitis.
