“Magnesium is an activator of many enzymes and mediates the production and transport of energy in the body. It is necessary for the functioning of the heart muscle, nervous system, vascular smooth muscle and striated muscle. Magnesium deficiency increases the risk of coronary heart disease, heart attack and cardiac arrhythmia.
Symptoms of magnesium deficiency include hyperactivity, difficulty concentrating, increased sensitivity to stress, and skeletal muscle dysfunction (tremors).

The drug Magnesium asparticum Philofarm is used for magnesium deficiency.

The active ingredient of the drug is magnesium ions (in the form of magnesium hydroaspartate). 1 tablet contains 40 mg of magnesium ions.

Dosage

The medicine should be taken orally, after meals, with water.
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
therapeutically: usually 1 or 2 tablets 2 or 3 times a day, i.e. 80 to 240 mg magnesium per day (3.3 to 9.9 mmol).
prophylactically, in justified cases: usually 1 or 2 tablets twice a day, i.e. 80–160 mg magnesium/day (3.3–6.6 mmol)
Children from 4 to 12 years old:
depending on the identified magnesium deficiency, age and body weight of the child: usually 1 or 2 tablets twice a day, i.e. from 80 mg to 160 mg magnesium/day (3.3, mmol-6.6 mmol)
Patients with renal or liver failure
The use of Magnesium asparticum Filofarm is contraindicated in patients with renal failure.
Elderly patients
There is no need to change the route of administration and dosage in elderly patients.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents
The medicine is intended for use only in adults and children aged 4 years and older. Other forms of the medication are available and are suitable for children under 4 years of age.
Contraindications
When should you not use Magnesium asparticum Philopharm?
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to magnesium aspartate or any other ingredient;
if you have hypermagnesemia (excess magnesium in the blood);
if you have severe renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min);
in the presence of atrioventricular conduction disorders (blockade), bradycardia (slow heart rate), myasthenia gravis (a rare disease accompanied by muscle weakness).”
