The active ingredient of the drug is xylometazoline hydrochloride (Xylometazolini hydrochloride).
Excipients: disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride, benzalkonium bromide (10% solution), purified water.
Dosage
The usual dose of Xylometazoline VP (1 mg/g) is:
Children over 12 years of age and adults: 2-3 drops of the drug topically in each nostril 3 times a day.
The medicine should not be used for more than 5 days.

Action
Xylometazoline VP constricts the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, reducing its hyperemia. Swelling and the amount of exudate (runny nose) are reduced. The nasal passages and passages connecting the nasal cavity to the sinuses are unblocked. The drug reduces runny nose and makes breathing easier.
The effect of the drug begins 5-10 minutes after administration and lasts several hours (up to 10 hours).
Indications
Xylometazoline VP is used:
with obstruction of the nasal passages caused by swelling of the nasal mucosa during acute rhinitis (for example, colds and flu),
with inflammation of the paranasal sinuses,
for allergic rhinitis (hay fever).
Contraindications
When should you not use Xylometazoline VP:
if you are allergic to xylometazoline, other nasal decongestants, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
if you suffer from chronic atrophic rhinitis,
if you suffer from narrow-angle glaucoma.”
