Dosage
Doses of the drug are selected individually depending on the degree of pancreatic insufficiency of the patient. Usual doses:
Adults: orally, 2–4 capsules with each meal.
Children: oral, 500 – 1000 Ph.Eur. lipase/kg body weight/meal, for example children weighing 15 kg: from ¾ to 1.5 capsule contents.
The prescribed dose can be increased according to the doctor’s recommendations.
The product should be taken during meals with liquid.
Capsules should be swallowed whole and should not be chewed, crushed or kept in the mouth, as this may irritate the oral mucosa and reduce the effectiveness of the drug.
If it is difficult to swallow whole capsules (especially in young children), you can empty the granules from the capsule, mix them with a small amount of food with a pH less than 5.5, swallow immediately without chewing, and then drink. a glass of water or juice.
Action
Neo-Pancreatin Forte belongs to a group of drugs called “pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy”. Each capsule contains 3 types of enzymes: protease, amylase and lipase. They help process and digest food.
Indications
Neo-Pancreatin Forte is used for conditions of pancreatic enzyme deficiency of various etiologies, such as:
chronic pancreatitis,
cystic fibrosis,
obstruction of the bile ducts or pancreatic ducts by cancer,
surgery to remove the pancreas or stomach.
Contraindications
When should you not use Neo-Pancreatin Forte:
with hypersensitivity to pancreatin, other ingredients of the drug, pork protein,
for acute pancreatitis,
with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.”
