Product information
The active substance is: heavy magnesium carbonate ( Magnesia subcarbonas ponderosus ).
1 tablet contains 130 mg of magnesium ions in the form of 500 mg of heavy magnesium carbonate.
Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, sodium lauryl sulfate, polyvinyl alcohol, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.
dosage
Always use this product exactly in accordance with the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
For prophylaxis, it is recommended to take 1 tablet three times a day (600 mg in total).
The medical dose is determined individually by the doctor depending on the indication and degree of deficiency.
The drug is taken orally, whole with a sufficient amount of water. Do not take on an empty stomach.

Indication

Contraindication

Side effects
Like all medicines, this product can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Less common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people) are nausea, vomiting and loose stools.
Warnings and precautions
With impaired kidney function, Magnesin should be used with caution and regular blood tests for magnesium should be performed.
A dose higher than 2 g of the drug has a laxative effect.
One tablet contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) of sodium, which means that the preparation is “sodium-free”.
Store the medicine at room temperature.

Taking other medicines

Tablets can communicate with:
- Tetracyclines, iron drugs, fluoroquinolones and some anticoagulants? reduce the absorption and effectiveness of these drugs

- loop diuretics, aminoglycoside antibiotics, some hormonal and antitumor drugs, amphotericin B ? increased excretion of magnesium in the urine,
- Vitamin B6 – strengthens the effect of magnesium,
- intravenous calcium salts ? reducing effects of Magnesin
Taking the medicine with food and drink
Avoid taking Magnesin with food or immediately after a meal that contains foods rich in calcium and fat, as they may reduce the absorption of the medicine.
The drug should not be taken on an empty stomach.
