“Indications Octenisept
Octenisept is intended for:
disinfection and supportive treatment of small superficial wounds and skin disinfection before non-surgical procedures
Maintenance antiseptic treatment of closed skin surfaces after treatment, for example, suturing after treatment.
repeated, short-term antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent tissues before and after diagnostic procedures in the oral cavity, genitals and anus, including the vagina, vulva and glans penis, as well as before catheterization of the bladder
in pediatrics (including for the care of the umbilical cord stump)
for disinfection of the oral cavity (for example, ulcers, irritations caused by wearing orthodontic appliances or dentures)
time-limited supportive antiseptic treatment of interdigital mycoses
in the genital area, for example inflammation of the vagina, as well as in the area of the head of the male penis.
Octenisept is intended for use in adults and children of all ages.
Active ingredient: octenidine dihydrochloride, phenoxyethanol.
Octenisept composition
The active ingredients of the drug are: octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol. 100 g of liquid contains 0.10 g of octenidine dihydrochloride and 2.00 g of phenoxyethanol. Excipients: cocamidopropyl betaine – solution 30% or 38% (amidopropylcocoic acid dimethylammonium acetate, sodium chloride, water), sodium D-gluconate, glycerin 85%, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Action
Action of the drug:
bactericidal (including MRSA, Chlamydium, Mycoplasma);
fungicidal;
yeast action;
protozoa (including Trichomonas);
virucidal agents (herpes simplex, hepatitis B virus and HIV).
How to dose and use Octenisept?
Octenisept liquid is recommended for use undiluted.
Application to skin
Octenisept should be applied to the treated area at least once daily by spraying, wiping with sterile gauze or pad, ensuring complete hydration.
Disinfection of skin and mucous membranes with Octenisept:
The areas of skin and mucous membranes to be treated must be thoroughly moistened with sterile gauze soaked in octenisept, or moistened by spraying the drug directly onto accessible areas of the skin and mucous membranes. The required exposure time should be observed – at least 1 minute, it is advisable to increase the time to 5 minutes. Be sure to moisten the entire surface evenly. Leave for at least 1 minute. As an adjuvant in the treatment of skin mycoses, the drug is sprayed between the toes on the affected surfaces in the morning and evening for 14 days.
Antiseptics of superficial wounds:
The wound should be sprayed or wiped with sterile gauze moistened with octenisept liquid. The medicine should be used every time the dressing is changed. For wounds with exudate, octenisept is used as a lubricant, ensuring contact with the wound and its hydration for at least 1 minute, it is advisable to extend the time to 5 minutes.
Caring for sutures after surgery:
The wound should be sprayed or wiped with sterile gauze soaked in octenisept. The medicine should be used every time the dressing is changed. Octenisept has a disinfectant and analgesic effect. Disinfection of the wound environment should be carried out with sterile gauze swabs moistened with undiluted medication, running from the center of the wound to the outside.
Antiseptics for the vaginal mucosa:
Octenisept should be used to moisturize the surface of the vaginal mucosa, ensuring contact of the drug with the mucous membrane for at least 1 minute. Numerous clinical studies have shown that Octenisept has an effective bactericidal effect on a variety of bacteria, including: I play positive and I play negative.
Antiseptic treatment of the head of the male penis:
Octenisept should be applied to the surface of the mucous membrane of the glans penis, ensuring contact of the drug with the mucous membrane for at least 1 minute.
Oral disinfection:
Rinse your mouth vigorously with 20 ml of octenisept for 20 seconds.
Caring for the umbilical cord stump:
To care for the umbilical cord stump, use a gauze swab moistened with octenisept liquid. After 1 minute, dry the stump and the skin around it. Keep your baby’s cord stump clean and dry.
When should you not take Octenisept?
Do not use the spray if you are allergic to octenidine dihydrochloride, phenoxyethanol, or any other part of this medicine.
Octenisept should not be used as an abdominal rinse.”
