“Composition
The active substance is: levodropropizine.
5 ml of syrup contains 30 mg of levodropropizin.
The other ingredients are: citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, sucrose, raspberry flavor A [flavoring substances and preparations, natural flavoring substances, propylene glycol (E1520), ethyl alcohol], purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Use in adults: the recommended dose is 10 ml three times a day, with intervals of not less than 6 hours between doses.
Use in children over 2 years of age: 10-20 kg: the recommended dose is 3 ml of syrup three times a day.
20-30 kg: the recommended dose is 5 ml of syrup three times a day.
Action
The active substance in Pulmopect has an antitussive effect.
Indications
Pulmopect is indicated for the treatment of the symptoms of a dry, non-productive cough.
When not to use Pulmopect:
If you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you have bronchial myxorrhea, a condition characterized by the production of large amounts of mucus.
If you suffer from respiratory problems characterized by a reduction in the ability to expel mucus.
In pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Stop taking the medicine and seek medical help immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms: severe cases of skin reactions (hives, itching) or skin diseases, e.g. blistering. Uneven heartbeat, allergic/anaphylactic reactions.
Very rare side effects (less than 1 in 10,000 patients): hives, skin redness, rash, itching, skin reactions, stomach pain, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, palpitations, irritability, drowsiness.
Additionally, the following side effects occurred: glossitis and aphthous stomatitis with fever, inflammation caused by stopping the flow of bile from the liver.

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store at temperatures below 25 oC.
Pulmopect is a medicine used to treat cough. It should only be used while waiting for the cause of the cough to be diagnosed and/or while treating the disease causing the cough.
Pulmopect should not be used during long-term treatment. If there is no improvement after 7 days, contact your doctor.
Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
In particular, tell your doctor if you are taking sedative medicines (used to treat anxiety).
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
For pregnant or breastfeeding women, consult your doctor before using the medicine.
The drug is contraindicated in women who are pregnant or intending to become pregnant, as well as during breastfeeding.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
Driving vehicles and machines
Pulmopect may cause drowsiness (see section 4 “”Possible side effects””). If you experience this symptom, avoid driving or operating machinery.
