- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Tablets should be taken during meals without chewing, drinking a sufficient amount of liquid. Unless the doctor has prescribed otherwise, the recommended doses are for Adults: the recommended daily dose is 75 – 100 mg (3 – 4 times a day per tablet). Use in children and adolescents 6-14 years old: 1/2 tablet 2-3 times a day. This medicine is not recommended for children under 6 years of age, as the “tablet” dosage form is not recommended for children in this age group. Do not stop taking the medicine arbitrarily, because in this case the disease may recur.
Warnings and precautions for use - Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Suprastin.
If you have any liver or kidney disease, as you may need a dose reduction.
If you have glaucoma (this medicine can cause an acute glaucoma attack), cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, muscle disease, urinary retention, enlarged prostate, as well as prolonged constipation, acute peptic ulcer or increased thyroid function, use the medicine only under the advice of a doctor .
If you have dizziness, or allergy symptoms become more pronounced, as well as if you have had any of the above-mentioned side effects while taking antihistamines.
Children, elderly and debilitated patients should be especially careful when using Suprastin, as they are more sensitive to certain side effects (drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, drop in blood pressure).
Taking this medicine late at night can increase the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (pain in the stomach and epigastrium, regurgitation of stomach acid into the esophagus).
