“This medicine contains xylometazoline hydrochloride, which helps to constrict the blood vessels of the nose, thereby reducing swelling of the nasal mucosa. Xedin GC for children at a dose of 0.5 mg/ml is indicated for use in children aged 2 to 12 years.
Xedin HA for children also contains hyaluronic acid (in the form of sodium hyaluronate), which protects and moisturizes the nasal mucosa.
Indications
Xedin GA for children is used for:
reducing swelling of the nasal mucosa caused by inflammation of the nasal mucosa (rhinitis) or inflammation of the sinus mucosa (sinusitis).
Active ingredient: Xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Compound
The active ingredient of the drug is xylometazoline hydrochloride. 1 ml contains 0.5 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride. Each dose (70 microliters) contains 0.035 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Other ingredients (excipients): purified sea water, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium hyaluronate, purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medication exactly as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Recommended dose
Children aged 2 to 12 years:
1 injection of Xedin GK for children in each nostril up to 3 times a day.
The medicine should not be used for more than 5 days unless your doctor advises otherwise. You should wait a few days before taking the medicine again.
If you have a chronic cold, this medication should be used only under the supervision of a doctor to prevent atrophy (thinning) of the lining of the nose.
Do not use more than the recommended dose.
If you do not feel better or feel worse after 3 days, consult your doctor.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
Xedin HA for Children should not be used in infants and children under 2 years of age.
Contraindications
When should you not use Xedin HA for children:
if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any other ingredient of this medicine.
if you have dry rhinitis (dry rhinitis)
if you have recently had neurosurgery (removal of the pituitary gland through the sphenoid sinus or any other neurosurgical procedure that exposes the outer layer of the brain (meningeal layer))
if the patient has increased intraocular pressure, especially narrow-angle glaucoma
in infants and children under 2 years of age”
