Doliprane 100 mg suppositories contain paracetamol. They are reserved for infants weighing 3 to 8 kilos, from birth to approximately 9 months.
This medication is an analgesic and antipyretic. Doliprane 100 mg is indicated in cases of pain or fever to treat headaches, flu-like conditions, dental pain, aches.
How to use Doliprane baby 100 mg?
The recommended dose of paracetamol is 60 mg/kg/day or 15 mg/kg every 6 hours.
In infants weighing 3 to 4 kilos (approximately one month), half a suppository should be administered, i.e. 50 mg of paracetamol per dose, to be repeated if necessary every 6 hours without exceeding 4 half suppositories per day.
In infants weighing 5 to 8 kilos (approximately 2 to 9 months), we can give one suppository of Doliprane 100 mg per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 suppositories per day.
The suppository is used rectally by inserting the flat end first to avoid any rejection.
If your child suffers from kidney failure, a minimum period of 8 hours must be respected between doses of Doliprane 100 mg.
To avoid any risk of anal irritation, the duration of treatment should always be as short as possible and not exceed 3 days when treating fever and 5 days when relieving pain. If the symptoms persist or worsen, a consultation with your pediatrician or your doctor will be essential.
In case of diarrhea, the use of suppositories is not recommended. In this case, you will use Doliprane strawberry syrup to administer paracetamol.
