“Taking Akatar Care Kids reduces swelling of the inflamed mucous membrane and suppresses excess secretion, which makes it easier to breathe freely through the nose. Relieving nasal congestion also opens and dilates the sinus ducts and unblocks the eustachian tubes. This makes it easier to remove secretions and treat bacterial infections.
The effect of oxymetazoline occurs within a few minutes after administration and lasts up to 12 hours.
Acatar Care Kids contains as an excipient hyaluronic acid in the form of sodium salt, which protects and moisturizes the nasal mucosa. Acatar Care Kids does not contain preservatives.
What are the indications for use of Acatar Care Kids?
Swelling of the mucous membranes occurs with acute rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, inflammation of the eustachian tube, otitis media.
Active ingredient: oxymetazoline hydrochloride.
Composition of Acatar Care Kids aerosol
The active ingredient is oxymetazoline hydrochloride. 1 ml of solution contains 0.25 mg of oxymetazoline hydrochloride.
Excipients: glycerin 85%, sodium citrate, citric acid monohydrate, sodium hyaluronate, hydrochloric acid 25% (to adjust pH), sodium hydroxide (to adjust pH), water for injection.
1 dose of 45 µl aerosol contains 11.25 µg of oxymetazoline hydrochloride.
How to dose and use Acatar Care Kids aerosol?
Children from 1 year to 6 years: 1 dose of Acatar Care Kids in each nostril 2-3 times a day.
The medicine should not be used in children under the first year of life.
Acatar Care Kids is intended for intranasal use only (also for inflammation of the eustachian tube and otitis media).
The medicine package should only be used by one person.
The medicine should not be used for longer than 5–7 days.
Always use Acatar Care Kids exactly as described on the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
When should you not use Acatar Care Kids?
if you suffer from dry rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa with the formation of crusts);
if you are allergic to oxymetazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
if you have had surgery through the nose, such as removal of the pituitary gland or surgery to expose the dura mater (brain surgery through the nose or mouth).
Acatar Care Kids should be used with extreme caution and only after careful consideration by your doctor of the benefits and risks in the following cases:
treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) and other drugs that can increase blood pressure;
increased intraocular pressure, especially with angle-closure glaucoma;
severe heart and vascular diseases (for example, coronary heart disease, hypertension);
adrenal pheochromocytoma;
metabolic disorders (eg, hyperthyroidism, diabetes).”
