“Ibufen Baby – indications for use
The medicine is intended for use in children in the following cases:
Fever of various origins (including due to viral infections, post-vaccination reactions).
Pain of various origins, from mild to moderate:
headaches, sore throat and muscle pain associated with colds and flu,
pain in muscles, joints and bones due to injuries of the musculoskeletal system (overexertion, sprains),
pain due to soft tissue injuries, postoperative pain,
toothache, including teething pain,
headache,
ear pain resulting from inflammation of the middle ear.
Active ingredient: Ibuprofen
What does Ibufen Baby contain?
The active ingredient is ibuprofen. Each suppository contains 125 mg of ibuprofen.
Other ingredients: Witepsol H 15, Witepsol W 45.
Dosage
Always use Ibufen Baby suppository exactly as described in the patient instructions or as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Rectal administration.
Do not use in children weighing less than 12.5 kg.
The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest period of time needed to relieve symptoms. If symptoms of infection (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen, you should contact your doctor immediately (see section 2).
Children – the maximum daily dose of ibuprofen is 20-30 mg per kg of body weight, divided into 3-4 single doses. A single dose of 10 mg per kg should not be exceeded.
Age (weight) – Single dose – Daily dose
from 2 to 4 years
(from 12.5 to 17 kg) – 1 suppository 125 mg – 3 times a day with an interval of 6-8 hours. Do not use more than 3 suppositories per day.
from 4 to 6 years (from 17 to 20.5 kg) – 1 suppository 125 mg – 4 times a day with an interval of 6 hours. Do not use more than 4 suppositories per day.
The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.
When should you not use Ibufen Baby?
if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),
if you have ever had allergy symptoms such as runny nose (rhinitis), angioedema, urticaria, bronchospasm or asthma after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
in a patient with a history of active gastric and/or duodenal ulcers, or a history of recurrent gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding (two or more separate episodes of documented ulceration or bleeding),
if you have bleeding or perforation in the upper gastrointestinal tract after using NSAIDs,
if you have severe liver failure, severe kidney failure or severe heart failure,
if the patient is in the third trimester of pregnancy,
if the patient has a bleeding disorder,
in children weighing less than 12.5 kg.”
