Levophta 0.05% eye drops are a medicine containing levocabastine, a molecule that belongs to the family of medicines called antihistamines . The role of these medicines is to inhibit the release of histamine in the body and thus relieve allergic reactions (histamine plays an important role in allergies).
Levophta 0.05% eye drops are prescribed to treat symptoms related to allergic conjunctivitis : itchy and watery eyes and/or swollen eyelids).
In a 5 ml bottle, there is 0.054 g of levocabastine hydrochloride, or 0.050 g of levocabastine per 100 ml.
The other ingredients are propylene glycol, disodium phosphate anhydrous, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, hypromellose, polysorbate 80, benzalkonium chloride (50% solution), sodium edetate, purified water.
