“Loperamide APTEO MED is used:
for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older;
for the symptomatic treatment of acute attacks of diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome in adults 18 years of age and older after initial diagnosis by a physician.
If you do not feel better or feel worse after 2 days, contact your doctor.
Active ingredient: Loperamidium hydrochloride.
Compound
The active ingredient is loperamide hydrochloride. 1 tablet contains 2 mg of loperamide hydrochloride.
Other ingredients: corn starch (dried), lactose (DCL 21), polysorbate 80, talc, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate. Capsule shell: body: gelatin, purified water, sodium lauryl sulfate, erythrosine (E 127), black iron oxide (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171), cap: gelatin, purified water, sodium lauryl sulfate, yellow iron oxide (E 172 ), indigo carmine (E 132), titanium dioxide (E 171); ink: shellac, black iron oxide (E 172), potassium hydroxide.
Dosage of loperamide APTEO MED 2 mg
Loperamide APTEO MED should be used exactly as described in the patient instructions or as directed by a physician. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Loperamide APTEO MED should be taken orally with liquid.
Dosage
Diarrhea may disappear after one dose. Then you should no longer use the medicine. If you have diarrhea, you should drink more fluids than usual. This is especially important for adolescents, elderly and debilitated patients.
Acute diarrhea.
Adults and teenagers over 12 years of age:
The initial dose is 2 capsules (4 mg), then 1 capsule (2 mg) after each loose stool. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 capsules (12 mg).
If, when treating acute diarrhea, symptoms worsen or do not disappear within 48 hours after taking Loperamide APTEO MED, stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
Symptomatic treatment of acute episodes of diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome:
Adults, persons aged 18 years and older.
Initially, 2 capsules (4 mg), then 1 capsule (2 mg) after each loose stool or as directed by a doctor. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 capsules (12 mg).
In case of repeated episodes of diarrhea due to irritable bowel syndrome, Loperamide APTEO MED can be used for up to 2 weeks, however, if each episode of diarrhea lasts more than 48 hours, you should consult a doctor.
Children
Loperamide APTEO MED should not be used in children under 12 years of age or in patients with irritable bowel syndrome under 18 years of age.
Use of loperamide APTEO MED in elderly people
No dose modification is required in the elderly.
Use of loperamide APTEO MED in patients with renal failure.
No dose modification is required in patients with renal failure.
Use of loperamide APTEO MED in patients with impaired liver function.
Patients with hepatic impairment should use the drug under medical supervision as they should use caution and closely monitor for symptoms of CNS toxicity.”
