Effect
The medical device Ottilan med supports the treatment of inflammation of the external auditory canal caused by infections of various origins.
- helps to relieve the most common symptoms of otitis externa, such as pain and swelling, itching, a feeling of tight skin and blocked / decreased hearing,
- contains glycerol, which helps to remove excess fluid from the tissues of the external auditory canal (osmotic effect), reducing swelling and accompanying ear pain, and creates a protective barrier on the skin surface,
- Silver nanocolloids present in the product with a strong oxidizing effect cause the death of microorganisms, and the copper nanocolloids contained in the product prevent their growth.
The method of use of the medical device
Ottilan med in the form of drops is used in children (over 12 months) and adults in the external auditory canal. If you have any questions, please contact your doctor or pharmacist. Before using the product, carefully read the entire instructions for use attached to the package, because it contains important information.
Children and adults: administer 1-2 drops of the medical device up to three times a day into the sore ear.
The ear pain should decrease within a few days of starting the use of the medical device. If there is no improvement within 3 days or if the symptoms worsen, contact your doctor immediately. If necessary, and only after consulting a doctor, the medical device may be used for a long time
Contraindications and precautions
- Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to glycerol or any of the substances contained therein.
- Do not use if there is any evidence or suspicion of damage to the eardrum.
- Do not use in the event of bleeding or leakage from the ear.
- Do not use if you experience severe earache along with deterioration of hearing.
- Should not be used in infants under 12 months of age.
- Do not use in people immediately after surgery in the area of the ear.
- Do not use in the ear with the hearing aid on. Ottilan med should be administered approximately one hour before the hearing aid is inserted into the external ear canal.
- If there is no improvement within 3 days or if the symptoms worsen, contact your doctor immediately.
- Prolonged pain or swelling may signal a bacterial or fungal infection that requires medical consultation and treatment.
- Store at a temperature of 5 – 25ºC.
- After opening the package for the first time, the product can be used for no longer than 30 days.
- Store out of reach of children.
- Do not use after the expiry date stated on the package.
