“Otrivin nasal spray for children is indicated for use in children aged 2 to 11 years.
Indications
Excessive nasal congestion that occurs with colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis. The drug facilitates the outflow of secretions from the inflamed paranasal sinuses. By reducing hyperemia of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, it can be used as an adjuvant for otitis media. Otrivin for children facilitates nasal examination (examination of the nasal cavity).
Active ingredient: Xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Compound
One ml of solution contains
0.5 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Excipients of the drug: benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, sorbitol 70%, hypromellose 4000, purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medication exactly as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor. If you have any doubts, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Otrivin for children should be used only in the nose (also for otitis media).
To avoid the spread of infection, one package of the drug should be used only by one patient.
Children aged 2 to 5 years (under adult supervision):
1 dose of Otrivin children’s spray in each nostril 1-2 times a day (every 8-10 hours).
Do not use more than 3 times a day.
Children aged 6 to 11 years (under adult supervision):
1 or 2 doses of Otrivin children’s spray in each nostril 2-3 times a day.
Do not use more than 3 times a day.
Otrivin for children should not be used in children under 2 years of age. Use in children aged 2 to 11 years should be under adult supervision. It is recommended to take the last dose of the drug immediately before bedtime.
Do not use for more than 10 days in a row.

Contraindications
When should Otrivin not be used for children?
if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
if you have had surgery through the nose, such as removal of the pituitary gland or surgery to expose the dura mater (brain surgery through the nose or mouth).
if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye).
if you have very dry nasal mucosa (dry rhinitis or atrophic rhinitis).”
