The active substances are: organic calcium salts (gluconolactobionate and lactobionate).
100 ml contains: Calcii glubionas anhydricus 29.4 g (calcium gluconolactobionate anhydrous), Calcii lactobionas dihydricus 6.4 g (calcium lactobionate dihydrate), corresponding to 2.31 g of calcium ions.
5 ml of syrup contains 115.6 mg of calcium ions.
Excipients: sucrose, sodium benzoate (E 211), citric acid monohydrate (E 330), raspberry flavor, purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Calcium HASCO is for oral use. The syrup should be dosed using the measuring cup attached to the package.
Adults: 15 ml 2 or 3 times a day.
Children up to 6 years : 5 ml 2 or 3 times a day,
Children from 6 to 12 years: 10 ml 2 or 3 times a day.

Calcium is a building component of the skeleton and is essential in many physiological processes, including in the process of blood clotting, muscle contractility, nerve conduction. Calcium ions reduce the permeability of blood vessel walls, acting against exudation and swelling.
Indications
The indications for the use of Calcium HASCO are the prevention and supplementation of calcium deficiency in the body, e.g. during pregnancy or breastfeeding, treatment of osteoporosis and supportive treatment of allergy symptoms.
Contraindications
Do not take Calcium HASCO:
- if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
- if you have elevated levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcaemia, e.g. in patients with overactive parathyroid glands, severe renal failure, vitamin D overdose),
- in case of increased excretion of calcium in the urine (hypercalciuria),
- in severe renal failure,
- in kidney stones,
- in atrioventricular block.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rare side effects :
- gastrointestinal disorders (constipation, diarrhea). Increased levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcaemia with nausea, abdominal pain, bone pain, muscle weakness) can occur mainly in people with impaired kidney function.
Warnings and Precautions
- Take care when using the drug in people with renal insufficiency and taking high doses of vitamin D.
- If you have been diagnosed with an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking the drug.
- The drug contains sucrose – if you have been diagnosed with an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking the drug.
- Calcium Hasco should be stored in closed packages at the temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
- Shelf life after first opening – 6 months.
- Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.
Use of other medications
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the drugs you are taking or have recently taken, and about any drugs you plan to use.
Calcium HASCO may interact with:
- some cardiac drugs (digitalis glycosides or calcium channel blockers) can cause serious heart problems (with high doses of calcium),
- some antibiotics (from the tetracycline group) and quinolones, levothyroxine, nitrofurantoin, bisphosphonates, chlorpromazine, penicillamines, blood thinners and fluoride compounds. A 3-hour interval between taking Calcium HASCO syrup and the above-mentioned drugs is recommended.
- Thiazide diuretics that reduce calcium excretion, and vitamin D increases calcium absorption.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The drug can be used during pregnancy or lactation under medical supervision.
Driving and operating machinery
The drug has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
