Dosage
Oral use.
When determining the dose of ibuprofen, the patient’s body weight (BW) and age should be taken into account. The usual single dose of ibuprofen is 7 to 10 mg/kg, up to a maximum daily dose of 30 mg/kg, divided into 3 to 4 single doses.
The minimum interval between subsequent doses is 6 hours.
For accurate dosing, a syringe dispenser is included in the package.
Shake the bottle before use.
The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.
Usual dose:
Children from 1 to 2 years (10-12 kg): initial dose 2.5 ml (equivalent to 100 mg ibuprofen). Then, if necessary, 2.5 ml every 8 hours. The maximum daily dose is 7.5 ml (300 mg ibuprofen).
Children from 3 to 5 years (13-19 kg): initial dose 2.5 ml (equivalent to 100 mg ibuprofen). Then, if necessary, 2.5 ml every 6 hours. The maximum daily dose is 10 ml (400 mg ibuprofen).
Children from 6 to 9 years (20-29 kg): initial dose 5 ml (equivalent to 200 mg ibuprofen). Then, if necessary, 5 ml every 8 hours. The maximum daily dose is 15 ml (600 mg ibuprofen).
Children from 10 to 12 years (30-39 kg): initial dose 5 ml (equivalent to 200 mg ibuprofen). Then, if necessary, 5 ml every 6 hours. The maximum daily dose is 20 ml (800 mg ibuprofen).
Children and adolescents from 12 years and adults: initial dose 5 ml to 10 ml (corresponding to 200 mg to 400 mg ibuprofen). Then, as needed, 5 ml to 10 ml every 6 to 8 hours. The maximum daily dose is 30 ml (1200 mg ibuprofen).
Without consulting a doctor, the patient should not use the medicine for longer than 3 days.
The drug is intended for emergency use. If symptoms persist, worsen or if new symptoms occur, the patient should contact a doctor.
The medicine should not be used in patients weighing less than 10 kg.
Action
Action of Ibufen for Children Forte:
– antipyretic
– analgesics
– anti-inflammatory
It can also be given to children allergic to food dyes or diabetics.
Indications
Fever of various origins (also due to viral infections). Pain of various origins, weak to moderate in intensity (including earache occurring in inflammation of the middle ear).
Contraindications
The medicinal product is contraindicated in patients: with hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any of the excipients of the product and to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), who have ever had symptoms of a runny nose after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), urticaria or bronchial asthma, with active or history of peptic ulcer disease, perforation or bleeding, including those occurring after the use of NSAIDs, with severe liver failure, severe renal failure or severe heart failure, while taking other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including COX-2 inhibitors, in patients with cerebrovascular bleeding or other active bleeding, in patients with bleeding diathesis or with unexplained disorders of the hematopoietic system, in patients with severe dehydration (caused by vomiting, diarrhea or insufficient fluid intake, in III trimester of pregnancy.
The medicinal product is contraindicated in children weighing less than 10 kg (up to 1 year of age) because the dose of the medicinal product is inappropriate due to the higher ibuprofen content.
