“Composition
The active substance is ibuprofen.
5 ml of suspension contains 200 mg of ibuprofen.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: liquid maltitol, glycerol, xanthan gum, sodium saccharin, sodium benzoate, fumaric acid, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, raspberry flavor, purified water.
Dosage
The drug is administered orally. Before use, the bottle should be shaken vigorously. An oral syringe is included in the package.
The daily dose of Ibum Forte, oral suspension strictly depends on body weight and is: 20-30 mg/kg body weight. in divided doses, according to the table below:

4-6 years (16-20 kg) 3.75 ml (150 mg) 3 times 3.75 ml = 450 mg
7-9 years (21-29 kg) 5 ml (200 mg) 3 times 5 ml = 600 mg
10-12 years (30-40 kg) 7.5 ml (300 mg) 3 times 7.5 ml = 900 mg
above 40 k 7.5-10 ml (300-400 mg) 3-4 times 7.5 ml = 900-1200 mg
The medicine should be administered at intervals of at least six hours. IBUM FORTE oral suspension can be administered to infants up to 6 months of age only after consulting a doctor.
If after 3 days there is no improvement or the patient’s condition worsens, contact your doctor.
Indications
Indications for use of the drug are:
fever of various origins, including: in the course of colds, flu and post-vaccination reactions
pain of various origins with mild to moderate intensity, such as:
headaches, throat pain, muscle pain (e.g. due to viral infections),
toothache, pain after dental procedures, teething pain,
pain in joints and bones due to injuries to the musculoskeletal system (e.g. sprains),
pain due to soft tissue injuries,
postoperative pain,
ear pain occurring due to inflammation of the middle ear.
Contraindications
When not to use:
If you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
If you are allergic to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),
In patients with active or previous gastric and/or duodenal ulcer, perforation (hole) or bleeding, also occurring after the use of NSAIDs.
In patients who have had any allergic symptoms in the form of a runny nose, hives, shortness of breath or bronchial asthma during treatment with acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
If you are taking other NSAIDs (including COX-2 inhibitors such as celecoxib or etoricoxib),
If you have severe liver, kidney or heart failure.
If there is bleeding in the brain (cerebrovascular bleeding) or other bleeding,
If you have blood clotting disorders, bleeding disorders (tendency to bleed) or blood production disorders of unknown origin.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The occurrence of side effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.
If side effects occur or if you are unsure, stop taking the medicine and talk to your doctor as soon as possible. Elderly people using this medicine are at increased risk of problems related to side effects.
See a doctor immediately if your child has:
Symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding such as severe abdominal pain, black stools, vomiting blood or dark-colored particles that look like coffee grounds.
Symptoms of rare but serious allergic reactions such as worsening of asthma, unexplained wheezing or shortness of breath, swelling of the face, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing, palpitations, drop in blood pressure leading to shock. Symptoms may occur even after the first use of the drug. If any of these symptoms occur, contact your doctor immediately.
Serious skin reactions such as a rash covering the whole body, peeling, blistering and flakes of skin falling off.
Common (affects 1 to 10 users in 100): heartburn, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation.
Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 users in 1,000): Inflammation of the stomach, large intestine and worsening of Crohn’s disease (inflammatory bowel disease), headache, dizziness, insomnia, agitation, irritability or fatigue, visual disturbances, stomach ulcers which may bleed or crack, mouth ulcers and/or swelling”
