“Septanazal nasal spray for children contains xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexopanthenol.
Xylometazoline hydrochloride has a nasal vasoconstrictor effect, reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa and the amount of secretion. Dexpanthenol is a derivative of the vitamin pantothenic acid, which has wound-healing properties and protects the epithelium of the nasal mucosa.
Septanazal aerosol for children is indicated for children from 2 to 6 years old.
Indications
Septanasal is indicated for children:
to reduce swelling of the mucous membrane during rhinitis and treat damage to the nasal mucosa,
in the treatment of non-allergic mucositis (vasomotor rhinitis),
in the treatment of nasal congestion after nasal surgery.
Active ingredient: dexpanthenol, xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Compound
Septanazal for children does not contain preservatives.
One dose of nasal spray (0.1 ml solution) contains:
0.05 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride
5.0 mg dexpanthenol
Other ingredients (excipients): potassium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, purified water.
How to use
Remove the protective cap from the spray tip.
Before first use or if the spray has not been used for a long time, press the pump several times until an even mist appears.
Place the tip of the pipette into the nostril, in an upright position if possible, and press down on the pipette. When dosing, inhale gently through your nose. If necessary, repeat this operation in the other nostril.
After each use, wipe the dispensing tip with a tissue and put on the protective cap.
Long-term use and use of higher than recommended doses of this medication may cause chronic swelling and sometimes thinning (damage) of the nasal lining.
Patients with increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), especially narrow-angle glaucoma, should consult a doctor before using the drug.
Dosage
Always use this medication exactly as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose of Septanazal for children from 2 to 6 years is one spray in each nostril up to three times a day as needed. Dosage depends on individual patient sensitivity and clinical response. Do not use for longer than 7 days unless advised otherwise by your doctor. Repeated use is possible only after a break of several days.
Contraindications
When should Septanazal not be used in children:
if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or dexopanthenol or any other ingredient of this medicine.
if you suffer from dry rhinitis with crusting (dry rhinitis)
in patients after surgery to remove the pituitary gland or other operations that expose the meninges (the lining of the brain).
Septanazal for children is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
