“Description
Fervex Junior is a combined medicine. Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect. Pheniramine maleate reduces congestion and swelling of the mucous membranes, thereby clearing the nasal passages, inhibiting the sneezing reflex and watery eyes. Ascorbic acid supplements vitamin C deficiencies in the body. Does not contain sugar. The drug is indicated for use over 6 years of age.
Composition
One sachet contains: paracetamol 280 mg, ascorbic acid 100 mg, pheniramine maleate 10 mg
Dosage
Children from 6 to 10 years: 1 sachet 2 times a day.
Children from 10 to 12 years: 1 sachet 3 times a day.
Adolescents from 12 to 15 years: 1 sachet 4 times a day.
Maximum recommended doses of paracetamol:
Children and adolescents weighing up to 50 kg: the maximum daily dose of paracetamol is 60 mg/kg/day, in total not more than 3 g/day, administered in divided doses of 10-15 mg/kg/day. Adults and adolescents weighing more than 50 kg: the maximum daily dose of paracetamol is 4 g/day.
Indications
emergency treatment of symptoms of flu, colds and flu-like conditions (headache, fever, nasopharyngitis) in children over 6 years of age.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the excipients; severe liver or kidney failure; narrow angle glaucoma; prostatic hyperplasia accompanied by urinary retention; children under 6 years old.
The risk of addiction, mainly psychological, is observed especially when doses higher than recommended are used and in the case of long-term treatment. To avoid the risk of overdose, check that other medicines you are taking do not contain paracetamol.
Drinking alcoholic beverages or taking sedatives (especially barbiturates) increases the sedative effect of antihistamines, therefore concomitant use should be avoided. There is a particular risk of liver damage in patients who are fasting and drinking alcohol regularly. Paracetamol should be used with caution in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency. Due to the content of sunset yellow, the product may cause allergic reactions.
